Ants

The Sunshine Coast is not surprisingly the perfect location for ants. Ants are everywhere! Ants are in homes, backyards, restaurants, bushlands, etc…  Ants thrive in urban areas caused by our modified way of living. Most ants do not cause any problems but do become a pest to the owner/occupant. It is very common for them to enter your home in search of food and water. They discover left over crumbs very quickly and call upon the rest of the colony to come and collect causing massive numbers of ants trailing through your home.

Ants are often blamed for damaging the wood structure of the home as it is common to find little piles of dirt near skirtings and areas below downlights. You will sweep it up and then it is back again! Ants like a clean, clear pathway so will move any dirt, dust, wood fragments and debris (that is left in the roof and wall cavities of the home from when it was built). They will deposit this into small mounds leaving a nice neat little pile of dirt for you.

Ants in the Sunshine Coast can become a major pest in your garden often seen trailing through cracks in the garden paths and walls of the property. Overgrown plants and foliage near the house creates the perfect opportunity for ants to invade the internal area of your home.

The Sunshine Coast is home to a large number of species of ants. The subtropical climate and natural bushland creates the perfect environment for them. Peregian Pest Control can treat for ants and advise on what you can do after the treatment to continue to manage your ant problem.
